9月30日，習(xí)近平等黨和國(guó)家領(lǐng)導(dǎo)人在北京天安門(mén)廣場(chǎng)出席烈士紀(jì)念日向人民英雄敬獻(xiàn)花籃儀式。

2014年8月31日，十二屆全國(guó)人大常委會(huì)第十次會(huì)議經(jīng)表決，通過(guò)了關(guān)于設(shè)立烈士紀(jì)念日的決定，以法律形式將9月30日設(shè)立為烈士紀(jì)念日，并規(guī)定每年9月30日國(guó)家舉行紀(jì)念烈士活動(dòng)。

2018年4月27日，十三屆全國(guó)人大常委會(huì)第二次會(huì)議通過(guò)的《中華人民共和國(guó)英雄烈士保護(hù)法》規(guī)定，國(guó)家和人民永遠(yuǎn)尊崇、銘記英雄烈士為國(guó)家、人民和民族作出的犧牲和貢獻(xiàn)。國(guó)家保護(hù)英雄烈士，對(duì)英雄烈士予以褒揚(yáng)、紀(jì)念，加強(qiáng)對(duì)英雄烈士事跡和精神的宣傳、教育，維護(hù)英雄烈士尊嚴(yán)和合法權(quán)益。此外，該法還規(guī)定，以侮辱、誹謗或者其他方式侵害英雄烈士的姓名、肖像、名譽(yù)、榮譽(yù)，損害社會(huì)公共利益的，依法承擔(dān)民事責(zé)任；構(gòu)成違反治安管理行為的，由公安機(jī)關(guān)依法給予治安管理處罰；構(gòu)成犯罪的，依法追究刑事責(zé)任。

Let us take this moment to cherish the memory of comrades Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, Liu Shaoqi, Zhu De, Deng Xiaoping, Chen Yun, and other veteran revolutionaries who contributed greatly to China's revolution, construction, and reform, and to the founding, consolidation, and development of the Communist Party of China; let us cherish the memory of the revolutionary martyrs who bravely laid down their lives to establish, defend, and develop the People's Republic; let us cherish the memory of those who dedicated their lives to reform, opening up, and socialist modernization; and let us cherish the memory of all the men and women who fought tenaciously for national independence and the liberation of the people in modern times.
